twinswans | In Synastry, if the Classic Sun-moon aspects are not present between charts.... Can the Sun-IC or Sun-IC ruler aspects between the charts be Considered instead? (Taking IC as synonymous to the moon) Is it a good enough substitute and would it give Similar results? What say? |
Moonfish | I don't think it can take the place of Sun-Moon, but it's definitely one of the few very powerful connections in a synastry chart Sun-Moon Sun-Asc/Desc Sun-MC/IC Sun-Vertex Sun-Node Having any of these in (conjunction, opposition, or trine) are ideal. |
RedScorp | Moon/S-turn is also a good combination. |

based on experience, I would add the square |
Moonfish | @vickymadness Ohh well I love it when even the square is proven to be enjoyable! and knowing these combos I'm not surprised |
twinswans | thanks guys What about a close sextile? And sun square node is good too?? |
somethingexcellent | Squares can be really good! A square isn't always bad (Mercury/Mars synastry square for example can be fights and arguments, but it can also make the desire for exciting and adventurous dates). |
mir | As a suitable substitute I would add these, - Sun/Moon midpoint to Sun or Moon in a 45-degr. aspect (0-45-90-135-180) - a Sun/Moon aspect in the composite (if we may believe Cafe-astro) - a Sun/Moon (contra-)parallel in the declinations - Sun being the solstice point of Moon |
